FUDcon logos – final round

  1. The variant number three of four.
Three is very beautiful and volumetric. But not suitable for printing because on the paper in b/w gamma it have very bad kind. In this case number four is better:)

  2. As for me the fifth variant is better because of infinity nature reflection. Also it could be easily printed in b/w or any other gamma.

      Number 5
I agree with oscar's comment. It looks great and seems easy to print.

I also like 5 the most. Simple and effective.

    Number 5
Yup, I like #5 the best as well. Notice that the logomark suggests (very subtly) the real Fedora logo, which is awesome. Great work!

  5. My vote goes to Number 5 as well.

  6. I vote for 5.
From a printers standpoint reproduction of that logo would be also the easiest and most cost effective as there are no touching spot colors. You could even make the whole thing black without loss of the separation of shapes like some of the other logos.

    1. hey do you know if any of these would actually work?

I assume #3 will be problematic because you're punching through 3 colors with the 'f' on the right… what do you think? Do you have any experience printing to CDs/DVDs? Print work is such a mystery to me sometimes 🙁

      1. Depends on the print process. If it is going to be some kind of offset or screen printing process where one ink is laid down at a time registration issues are going to really show on that punch out. In other words the alignment of each color of ink might be a hairline off from each other which would show badly at the points where two colors meet the punch out.
Then again I only have experience with inkjet printable CD/DVDs where everything is printed in one swoop. Maybe there are solutions with the other processes I do not know of. But how many of these are you making? The inkjet process is nice and we do it inhouse in a combination unit that does the duplication too.
You might also be able to get some help and get the job done here

We got our duplication and printing equipment from them too but they started out offering services for small time musicians. I hear they do a fantastic job.

    N. 1 gets my vote for originality, and for getting the "users and developers" point across.

i like #1, not b/c it's the overall best design, but i think it convey's the social aspect of a convention. I think i would like it better if instead of the two faces looking at eachother they were position beside each other like 2,3,4.
